Emerging Artists is a weekly art class for older kids and youth who are ready to grow as artists. Designed for students who enjoy creating and want to build their skills, this studio emphasizes both technical development and personal artistic expression in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Throughout the school year, students work with a wide range of materials and techniques—including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking and sculpture—while learning important artistic concepts such as composition, colour, perspective, observation and design. Along the way, they’re encouraged to experiment, take creative risks and develop their own artistic voice.
Projects balance skill-building with creative freedom. Some unfold over multiple weeks, allowing students to refine ideas and techniques, while others offer opportunities to explore new materials and approaches in a single class. Individual feedback and encouragement help each student grow at their own pace.
Emerging Artists is designed as an ongoing school-year studio program. The year is planned across Fall, Winter and Spring, with fresh projects and creative experiences throughout. Most students continue through the school year, building skills, confidence and familiarity in the studio over time.
New students are welcome to join at any time when space is available—there’s no need to wait for the beginning of a new season. Projects are planned so students joining partway through the year can jump in comfortably and quickly become part of the studio.
Some previous interest in art is helpful, but no formal training is required—just curiosity, commitment and a desire to keep growing.

Registration, Studio Fees & Attendance
Registration is $35 and covers your child’s first class. If you can register online, there is currently space available in the class. After you register, we’ll contact you to confirm the best date to begin and provide any details you need before the first class. If, after attending the first class, you feel the program is not the right fit, we are happy to offer a full refund.
After your child begins, studio fees are billed automatically at the beginning of each month at $35 per scheduled class. The monthly amount varies depending on the number of classes that month.
Your child’s space remains reserved as long as they continue in the program. Families may withdraw at any time with one month’s notice. Refunds are not provided for missed classes, as space and materials are reserved for each child.
Students should wear clothes that can get messy.
