Emerging Artists — Fall Studio is a weekly art class for older kids and youth who are ready to grow as artists. Designed for students who enjoy creating and want to build their skills, this studio emphasizes both technical development and personal artistic expression in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Throughout the fall, students will work with a wide range of materials and techniques—including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and sculpture—while learning important artistic concepts such as composition, colour, perspective, observation, and design. Along the way, they'll be encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and develop their own unique artistic voice.
Projects balance skill-building with creative freedom. Some unfold over multiple weeks, allowing students to refine ideas and techniques, while others offer opportunities to explore new materials and approaches in a single session. Individual feedback and encouragement help each student grow at their own pace.
Emerging Artists is part of an ongoing school-year studio program, with fresh projects and creative experiences in Fall, Winter, and Spring. New students are encouraged to join at the beginning of Fall Studio in September, Winter Studio in January, or Spring Studio in May, though registration may also be available at other times when space allows.
Some previous interest in art is helpful, but no formal training is required—just curiosity, commitment, and a desire to keep growing.

Studio fees are billed monthly at $35 per class, so the monthly amount varies depending on the number of scheduled classes.
Registration, studio fees & attendance policy
The first month’s studio fee is due at registration to reserve your child’s space. After that, studio fees are billed automatically at the beginning of each month.
If, after attending the first class, you feel this program is not the right fit, we are happy to offer a full refund. Refunds are not provided for missed classes, as space and materials are reserved for each child.
Families may withdraw from the program with one month’s notice.
Students should wear clothes that can get messy.
